Dr. Martin is specially trained as a certified Medical Consultant in the practice of Natural Procreative Technology. This is a system developed at Creighton University Medical Center which applies knowledge of the physiology of the menstrual cycle to diagnose and treat infertility and other women’s health abnormalities. This system has been used successfully as an ethical and natural alternative to IVF. NaPro Technology starts with the use of the information found in the Creighton Model Chart (method of Natural Family Planning) to identify the likely date of ovulation. Then, timed to the cycle, laboratory and ultrasound data is obtained to compare the patient’s hormone levels and ovarian function to standard curves. It then uses targeted treatment aiming to restore normal function of the system. The key features being the initial determination of the cause of the problem and then the restoration of normal function as opposed to its elimination and replacement as seen with much artificial reproductive technology.
